| Let me bid you a warm welcome to www.worldaroundus.co.uk - a website and business dedicated to providing information and reference material as well as supplying some of the loveliest comic books produced from just after the war through to the early ‘seventies. |
Here you will find background information on this splendid series - how it came into being and how long it ran for and you will also be able to purchase them via the sales catalogue. Here you will also be able to see today’s prices for those rare issues and you may well find that you wished that you had kept and cherished them all those years ago, if you once owned them. World Around Us was a specialised publication from Classics Illustrated (see www.classicsillustrated.co.uk ) which dedicated each comic book to a particular reference subject - be it nature, history or science, for example. Here you will find a comic dedicated to the US Army, US Indians, Famous Teenagers and The Jungle etc. These are in full colour and were produced in the forties, fifties and sixties. They were published in the UK as World Illustrated (see www.worldillustrated.co.uk ) but, in the US, there were a ten titles not produced in the UK World Illustrated series as follows:
